Job Summary: The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for projects, ensuring that proposals are competitive and profitable. This role involves analyzing project requirements, collaborating with various departments, and utilizing industry knowledge to forecast project costs and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Analysis: Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to develop a clear understanding of the scope of work.
  • Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed and itemized cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Bid Preparation: Compile and submit comprehensive bids, ensuring all necessary documentation and compliance with client requirements.
  • Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination: Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring competitive pricing and quality standards.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project feasibility and profitability.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to clarify project details, negotiate terms, and address any concerns or questions.
  • Documentation: Maintain organized and up-to-date records of estimates, bids, and project correspondence.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends, cost factors, and new technologies to improve estimation accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience in estimating within the [specific industry, e.g., construction, manufacturing] industry.
